Contemporary Kitchen Remodel in Dupont Circle, Washington, DC

The client wanted to update his 2000’s French provincial-style kitchen to something smart, classic, and minimal. This space connects to a dining/entertaining area, so the goal was to downplay some of the more prominent kitchen elements. We achieved this by cabinet-match paneling the refrigerator and dishwasher, going with a glass induction cooktop (vs. a range), and installing a flush-mounted hood in the soffit above.

Cabinets by Elmwood Cabinets, style "Mission" with 2.25" rail in "Matte White" (uppers), and "Grey Horse" by Benjamin Moore (lowers and appliance panels). Hardware by Jeffery Alexander, style "Sutton" cabinet pulls in matte black. Countertops by Cosentino Dekton XGloss collection in "Natura" (perimeter), and Silestone Quartz in "Iconic White" (island). Refrigerator/freezer by Thermador, 30" built-in panel-ready. Dishwasher by Thermador, 24" Star Sapphire Series. Range by Wolf, 30" M Series. Range by Wolf, 30" induction cooktop. Design and construction by Four Brothers Design + Build. Photography by Jennifer Hughes.
