Cozy White Cabinets in Capitol Hill, Washington, DC

A young couple came to us hoping to open up their kitchen while staying true to the home’s original footprint. The existing space posed some challenges, including poor ductwork and an awkwardly placed HVAC system that left them with a low ceiling and choppy wall lines. By relocating the HVAC, we were able to reclaim valuable ceiling height, finishing at an airy 105" and creating cleaner, more natural sightlines throughout the space. The homeowner, an avid plant lover, wanted to bring in organic elements, so we kept the cabinetry and countertops neutral to let the green Fireclay tile shine—bringing the outdoors in.
